Victims of a Circumstance
By Russell Robison
They tried to hold that shattered line
Beyond all reason, hope, or rhyme
Once more we fought for just a chance
Just victims of a circumstance
They never tried to slip away
And face to face they had their say
They said it well, we said it best
Survival was the only quest
Oh how the sight of fading life
Can cut your soul just like a knife
You cannot comprehend the cost
Much more than priceless what is lost
Another ending of the day
Too many here won't walk away
Too many demons of the dance
More victims of the circumstance |
